Autogenic Training is one of the most
efficient techniques for stress reduction,
relaxation, and healing power development;
created in 1932, in Germany by the
neuropsychologist Dr. J. W. Schultz. Practiced
every day, it will give the same effects as
the far East techniques, as meditation and
yoga, but is accessible to everybody, not
being related to any rituals, religious or
cosmological expressions, not requiring a
special room, clothing or other presetting
elements. It can be practiced virtually
everywhere: in your office, in a waiting room,
in a plane or train, in a boring meeting.
Using basic elements from Eastern relaxation
techniques, the Autogenic training fits the
western individual's psychological structure,
and by using simple mental exercises, will
project a total mind and body relaxation,
releasing the power of healing, creating a
state of self-hypnosis. When the technique has
been perfected, the training session can be
ended with health correction formulas, which
will dramatically improve health,
strengthening the immune system. It is a
perfect remedy for anxieties, neurosis,
insomnia, emotional conflicts, releasing the
creativity and increasing stamina. The
advantages are innumerable.
There are no recorded negative effects
caused by this training. The only prerequisite
skill is patience, to be able to relax and
contemplate passively the reaction of the body
to the mental exercises, and regularity in
practice.
